Thrivent Builds in Cape May in 2013
Habitat Cape May has been awarded a 2013 Thrivent Builds grant in support of our next stick-building project on Sumner Street in Whitesboro. We are one of only two Habitat Affiliates in New Jersey with Thrivent Builds projects this year, and we are proud to have been selected for this unique program. Over an eight-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity, Thrivent Financial has contributed over $180 million to Habitat, and constructed over 2000 homes in partnership with people in need in local communities accross the U.S. The Thrivent Builds grant will provide 50% of the cost of building our second home of 2013, and another 10% of the cost, as well as numerous volunteers, will be provided by local Lutheran Church congregations affiliated with Thrivent. We look forward to the start of this project, which is scheduled to begin at the end of June 2013.
