You can make a difference in a child’s life here in Cape May County, helping to give them a safe place to call home, a place to learn, play and dream. Habitat for Humanity Cape May County has put a new roof over the heads of twenty-three local children since 2011, including Orlando and Indiera, who have thrived in the years since their families became Habitat homeowners.

Orlando was a spunky sixth grader in 2012 when he stood with his parents in front of his family’s new home. This year he graduated from Cape May Tech as the soccer team captain and MVP, and began his studies in business administration at Atlantic Cape Community College. We are proud to report he was just awarded a Division One soccer scholarship to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK.  After college, Orlando wants to return home to become an entrepreneur. A gifted public speaker and youth minister, Orlando recently spoke about Habitat at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ocean View.  “Habitat truly changes lives,” he said. “I know, because it changed mine. I don’t know if I’d be the person I am without Habitat.” Donations from people like you made a difference for Orlando.

Indiera was just ten as she moved into her family’s new home with her mom and two sisters on a cold winter day in 2013.  Now she is excelling as a junior at Middle Township High School, and just made the National Honor Society. Indiera is excitedly planning for her future, which includes attending college, and then going on to law school. She says she wants to be a lawyer to help people get justice.

Habitat Cape May is planning the construction of two new single-family houses in Upper Township this coming spring and summer. Please consider making a gift to Habitat this year and help us continue our mission to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.  Your gift will help the next group of children like Orlando and Indiera reach their fullest potential.

100% of every dollar you contribute to this campaign will go directly to fund the construction two new Habitat homes in Marmora, Upper Township.
