Twenty Wells Fargo volunteers from the local Ocean City branch, as well as from around South Jersey, grabbed hammers, power tools and hit the ground running at the Habitat construction site Tuesday September 26th. This spirited group worked side-by-side with homeowners Abigail and Angel, and Habitat Cape May veteran volunteers on framing, siding and porch building projects. Wells Fargo Foundation is sponsor of the house at 209 Reeves Street, providing $20,000 towards construction costs. We loved having this great team of men and women join us for the day, and hope they want to make a return trip soon! If your work or social group would like to try their hand at a Habitat work day, contact Community Outreach Manager Cheryl Spaulding at cheryl.spaulding@habitatcapemay.org.

Stud Sponsorship - Give a Blessing Project

It will take over 300 wooden studs to build a the next new house the Gibson family to call home at 311 W Anna Street. The “Give a Blessing Project” will make studs available for sponsorship at $50 each. Inscribe a personal message or scripture dedicated to the family on one of the studs, and you can give a blessing to honor this family’s journey that will become a permanent part of their new house. Construction starts in late June 2015.
“Stud Finder” Reception
In August 2015, sponsors will be welcomed to the work site for a special reception, where you will get to meet the Gilbert family, and find your actual blessing built into the frame of the house.
How to "Give a Blessing":
- PAYMENT can be made by check and attached to the form, or online below.
- STUDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP at participating churches, and completed studs decorated with your blessings will be picked up by Habitat.
- INSCRIBE YOUR BLESSING - use your imagination! Blessings can be paint, marker, ink or any other permanent media. For best results, use one side of stud, and leave 6 - 12 inches on each end blank.
