Habitat for Humanity Cape May will be accepting homeowner/partner applications for 2014-2015 through March 14, 2014. It is recommended that all applicants attend one of the two scheduled application events in order to ensure the initial application includes all required information and is submitted correctly. Event schedule:
EVENT #1 - MIDDLE TOWNSHIP
DATE: SATURDAY MARCH 8th
TIME: 1- 4 pm
LOCATION: MARTIN LUTHER KING REC CENTER, 207 W Main Street, Whitesboro, NJ
EVENT #2 - LOWER TOWNSHIP
DATE: WEDNESDAY MARCH 12th
TIME: 5-8 pm
LOCATION: LOWER TOWNSHIP PUBLIC LIBRARY, 2800 Bayshore Rd, Villas, NJ
Application events will have Habitat staff and volunteers available to help applicants fill out initial homeowner applications. Applicants may arrive at any time during the event, and should expect to spend 30-45 minutes completing application. Applications require information regarding current living conditions, employment and monthly income (including wages, alimony, child support, TANF, Social Security, SSI Disability, or other income) and other basic financial information like monthly bills, debt and assets. Once applications are submitted, they will be screened for basic eligibility, and families who are deemed eligible will be invited for a follow-up interview where tax returns and other documentation will be reviewed.
Habitat Cape May only accepts applications when homeowner spots are available for houses that expect to be constructed within 24 months. We anticipate selecting four families during this application process, and will not be holding another family selection process until 2015 at the earliest.
If you cannot attend one of the events - you may submit the application by mail to:
Habitat Cape May
4 Moore Rd, DN 3020
Cape May Court House, NJ 08210
Applications must be received by Friday March 14, 2014.
