The Lopez Home
201 Wildwood Avenue
Cape May Court House
The Lopez home rehabilitation at 201 Wildwood Ave. was an early Habitat-built home that had fallen into disrepair over the course of nearly 20 years. In addition, the homeowner had become disabled, creating significant accessibility issues. Therefore, we worked with the Lopez family to rehabilitate the house, which is on the same street in Whitesboro where future Habitat homes will be built. The family will repay the cost of the repairs through their mortgage with HFH Cape May, and contributed 150 hours of sweat equity to the project. We completed this project as part of our commitment to the neighborhood, in order to ensure that Habitat homes are positive assets in local Cape May County communities. This project also served as a "warm-up" for our construction team, in preparation for readying the lot and acquiring the building permit for the Reeves Street new construction project.
