HOW TO VOLUNTEER FOR HABITAT CAPE MAY

Find Volunteer Shifts: All current volunteer shifts are posted online. To review the shifts, click the volunteer button here or on the home page, or click one of the listings directly from the home page.
Sign up for Volunteer Shifts: From the online listings, complete a simple volunteer registration with your email and phone number, then you will be able to sign up. You will also receive confirmation emails, as well as have the ability to cancel or change your shifts online.
Receive emails about new volunteer listings: If you register as a volunteer, you will be added to our email list. You can also add your name to our email list directly from the sign up button on the home page.
Get on the volunteer list without an email address: Call our voicemail machine at 609-463-0244 and leave a message for our volunteer coordinator.
Volunteer for a Habitat committee or jobs not posted online: Contact us via email, or call 609-463-0244.

CONSTRUCTION CREW

Current Project: Habitat Cape May is building a single-family home in Whitesboro, Middle Township
Location: 703 Reeves Street at Fishborn (see map below)
Schedule: Most Tuesdays & Thursdays, plus 2 Saturdays per month
Time: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
What to wear: Clothes that can get dirty, shoes or work boots,warm clothes/dress for the weather
Habitat provides: Safety equipment, tools, breakfast refreshments, water and hoagies for lunch
Skills required: Construction and/or carpentry experience is a plus, but we welcome volunteers of any ability level who are willing to learn. A Habitat-employed construction professional will be onsite at all times to supervise volunteers and building activities.
Youth volunteers: Construction volunteers must be age 16 or older, and 18 to operate power tools. Special construction projects will be available from time-to-time for youth volunteers 14-15 years old.

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES

If you want to help with Habitat in other ways, we need YOU! We are committed to building more houses in Cape May County, and more volunteers are needed to help on a variety of projects. We are currently recruiting volunteer committee members to help with Church Relations, Family Support, Public Outreach, Fundraising, In-Kind Construction Donations, Public Relations and the opening of a Habitat Retail ReStore here in Cape May County.
